The Mazda CX-5 is set to be updated for 2019, in time for the new ‘19’ UK number plates.
Available to order now, this revised version of the second-generation CX-5 – which debuted in 2017 – sees the introduction of a new GT Sport Nav+ model grade.
This new trim features amenities that were previously exclusive to the top-end of the Mazda6 line-up. This includes 19-inch alloy wheels on the exterior, alongside an interior that features real wood and satin chrome on the dashboard and door trim inlays, Nappa leather upholstery, white LED illumination and a frameless rear view mirror.
A seven-inch colour TFT dial display and an exclusive steering wheel design with a chrome centre bezel and high-grade stitching also set the GT Sport Nav+ apart from the rest of the range.
Front seat ventilation, heated outer rear seats and a sunroof all feature, as does a new safety pack. This sees the CX-5 kitted out with adaptive LED headlights, driver attention Alert, rear smart city brake support and a 360° monitoring camera.
Of course, satellite navigation also comes as standard on the GT Sport Nav+, which is available with a choice of front-wheel drive 163bhp petrol and 181bhp all-wheel drive diesel drivetrains.
In addition to the new flagship, subtle revisions have been made across the CX-5 range.
The 2019 version of the CX-5 will feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard for the first time, while there are also some minor interior revisions.
In addition, the CX-5’s suspension set-up has been further refined to further improve the car’s handling and ensure comfortable ride quality. Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control stability control system has also been updated.
All 2019 Mazda CX-5s feature LED headlights, auto power-folding door mirrors, dual-zone climate control. Standard safety equipment across the range includes radar cruise control, advanced blind spot monitoring, smart brake support, high beam control and lane keep assist.
Prices for the updated Mazda CX-5 will start at £25,595, while the GT Sport Nav+ trim starts at £31,095. Deliveries will begin in February.
