A Manhattan woman was injured after she drove a Mazda CX5 through a guardrail on Kansas Highway 13 and rolled down the dam at Tuttle Creek Lake in Pottawatomie County Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle came to a stop just a few feet from the shoreline.
The Riley County Police Department said the woman was driving east on K-13 when she went through the guardrail and rolled down the dam face toward the reservoir.
The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the woman as Kelly Ann White, 58, in a report Wednesday.
The report said White was suspected to have sustained “serious injury” and was taken to Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.
An official at Via Christi said Wednesday afternoon that White had been transferred to a hospital in Topeka, but reports were unclear whether it was the University of Kansas Health System’s St. Francis Campus or Stormont Vail.
